Ritter Center Spotlight

Case Management
Ritter Center’s case managers meet one-on-one with individuals and families in need of assistance. Case managers evaluate each client’s immediate and long-term needs through an interview assessment process. Together, the client and case manager develop a case plan to help stabilize the client and create a path to increased self-sufficiency. Image

Case plans for homeless clients often include mental health and substance abuse treatment. Typical case plans for low-income housed clients can include enrollment in government benefit programs such as Medi-Cal, financial literacy education, legal aid, therapeutic counseling, and supplementary food and clothing assistance. Clients enduring a one-time financial emergency can apply for rental assistance or other financial assistance. Assistance checks are sent directly to landlords or other vendors; money is not given directly to clients.

The Community Institute for Psychotherapy holds counseling sessions on-site at Ritter Center regularly to assist clients with mental health issues. Case managers also maintain a vast referral network with other service providers in the community and act as advocates for clients to receive these services.
